Thank you for everything [Dr. Mannering]. I can't tell you how much I appreciate all that you have done and do. I've been thinking about my experience with the cleft and surgery and dental work … a lot recently. One of the things I am most grateful to you for is that you look at me as a human being and we are in a shared endeavor. So much of my experience has been as an object of study or something to fix. I can't tell you how much it means to me to work with you. I could never have done this without your patience and willingness to consider me as part of the team.
